The 2026 Woman of Stature Awards Spotlight Women in Technology


The Woman in Technology category at the 2026 Woman of Stature Awards South Africa took center stage, recognizing women who are redefining the digital landscape and leading the charge for meaningful change in a technology-driven era.

As one of the evening’s standout categories, Woman in Technology celebrated leaders using technology as a force for change; solving complex challenges, accelerating business growth, and unlocking fresh possibilities across a wide range of industries.

Finalists brought expertise from diverse fields including fintech, software development, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. The category was supported by iME, an innovative video technology platform that brings organisations together through one-way interviews, collaborative video interactions, and live streaming.

“The level of innovation demonstrated by this year’s finalists was exceptional,” said Tandi Potgieter, CEO of iME. “These inspirational women are not only advancing technology but are also using it as a tool to create impact, solve challenges, and drive progress in our economy.”

The 2026 Awards attracted more than 1,000 nominations, highlighting the growing presence and influence of women in technology and innovation-driven sectors.

Charlotte du Plessis, Founder and CEO of the Woman of Stature Awards South Africa, reinforced the need to recognize and champion women in the tech industry,“Technology is shaping every aspect of our lives and economy. This category celebrates women who are leading that transformation and ensuring that innovation is inclusive, impactful, and forward-thinking.” She added.

Finalists were evaluated through a rigorous adjudication process, with a strong focus on impact, innovation, and leadership as key selection criteria.

As the Awards came to a close, the Woman in Technology category emerged as a compelling reflection of South Africa’s digital future ,shaped by women who are leading with vision, expertise, and purpose.

This recognition further underscores the critical role women play in driving technological advancement and highlights the importance of continued support for greater inclusion, visibility, and opportunity for women in the tech sector.
