Ai Kenya launches ‘Augmented Thinking’ Workshop Series for African Executives

Ai Kenya, a leading player in Africa’s artificial intelligence landscape, has announced a new executive training series titled Augmented Thinking: Leading with AI Confidence in a Changing World.

The initiative aims to equip senior leaders across the continent with the tools and insights needed to harness the full potential of generative AI in their organisations.

The monthly in-person workshops are designed for executives, department heads, and strategy teams, offering a four-hour, hands-on experience that demystifies generative AI and aligns it with core business objectives. The program tackles the growing demand for structured and contextualised AI guidance—an insight drawn from Ai Kenya’s extensive engagement in Kenya’s digital ecosystem since 2017.

“AI is no longer the future, it’s the present,” said Alfred Ongere, Founder of Ai Kenya. “This training series is our response to the gap we consistently see between curiosity and confident execution.”

Participants explore three key modules during the sessions:

  • AI Fundamentals and Business Use Cases
  • Strategic Integration for Functional Teams
  • AI Governance and Responsible Adoption

The curriculum blends strategic insights with practical demonstrations using tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Microsoft Copilot. The sessions also include facilitated discussions on real-world departmental challenges, helping leaders think critically about implementation.

More than just a technical course, the Augmented Thinking program aims to shift organisational mindsets. As businesses increasingly face competitive pressure to adopt AI, those that lag behind are experiencing clear gaps in productivity, speed, and customer insight. The program positions AI as a strategic thought partner, empowering leaders to make faster, smarter decisions.

The first session, conducted with the leadership team at Copycat Limited, was met with high praise.
“Ai Kenya delivered a concise, thought-provoking presentation on generative AI that gave eye-opening insights to our Senior Management Team,” said Andrew Kenneth, Business Development Executive at Copycat. “We continue to lean on their team for guidance as we roll out new initiatives.”

The launch of this program is timely, aligning with Kenya’s recent policy strides, including the Kenya National AI Strategy 2025–2030 and the Kenya National Digital Master Plan. Both documents underscore the urgent need for leadership-level fluency in emerging technologies. According to the International Finance Corporation (IFC), over 230 million jobs in Sub-Saharan Africa will require digital skills by 2030, making programs like Ai Kenya’s critical for future readiness.

The next public training cohort will be held on July 24, 2025, in Nairobi, with additional sessions planned monthly. Participants will receive a Certificate in AI Leadership & Strategy, providing a clear roadmap for organisations seeking to start, scale, or optimise their AI journey.

As Africa enters a new digital era, Ai Kenya’s Augmented Thinking series is helping organisations lead with clarity, agility, and confidence in the age of AI.
