Over 2,000 Delegates to Gather in Diani for the Connected Africa Summit 2025

Kenya is set to host the Connected Africa Summit 2025 from May 26 to May 29, 2025, at the Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort in Diani.

The annual summit will bring together over 2,000 delegates from across Africa, including leaders in government, business, academia, and development sectors. It’s being hosted by The Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, in partnership with the ICT Authority of Kenya.

At a press briefing on Monday, the two affirmed their readiness to host the event, which will run for four days. The summit is positioned as a premier platform for advancing dialogue on Africa’s digital transformation.

Eng. John Tanui, Principal Secretary in the State Department of ICT and Digital Economy, and Stanley Kamanguya, CEO of the ICT Authority, reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering collaboration between public and private sectors.

“We are more than ready,” said Kamanguya. “The collaboration we see from our partners is a strong endorsement of our shared digital vision. Even in the digital age, the best technology we have is each other. I welcome all of you to Diani – Tupatane Diani!”

PS Tanui reflected on the growth of the summit from a national to a continental platform, highlighting its role in shaping Africa’s digital future.

“This summit has evolved from Connected Kenya to Connected Africa, now drawing participation from across the continent. We are creating a platform to advance collaboration and explore how technology can drive Africa’s growth.” he said.

The Connected Africa Summit 2025 will feature a dynamic agenda including high-level plenaries, executive roundtables, policy dialogues, and sector-specific breakout sessions. Key topics will include artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, fintech, healthtech, and digital public services.

The event will also showcase homegrown innovation through an Innovation Village for startups and developers, as well as a Smart Government Zone presenting transformative public sector digital projects. Curated networking sessions will provide opportunities for strategic partnerships, investment dialogue, and meaningful collaborations.

Private sector support has been strong, with sponsorship from leading organizations including Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cisco, Fortinet, KCB, Safaricom Plc, and Silicon Overdrive, among others.

“This is our third year participating,” noted Shain Rahim, Country Manager, Cisco. “This summit is crucial as it brings together government and private sector players, especially at a time when emerging technologies like AI are reshaping how we think about security and digital infrastructure.”
