ASUS ROG Ally handheld gaming console to be launched on June 13


ASUS has confirmed that its ROG Ally portable gaming computer will go on sale starting on June 13 for $699,

Preorders will begin today, May 11 although the company does not mention when it plans to make the device available locally. 

The ROG Ally boasts some impressive specs including an AMD Ryzen™ Z1 Extreme Processor,  a 1080p, 16:9 display with a 30–120 Hz refresh rate, 7 ms response time, FreeSync capability, and a maximum brightness of 500 nits among other features.

“Our team has spent over a decade developing the technologies necessary to enable the Ryzen Z1 Series of processors. Working with visionary partners like ROG, we’ve designed a platform that redefines mobile gaming,” said Renato Fragale, senior director of product management for the Consumer and Gaming Client Business at AMD. “We’re excited for gamers to experience the first device powered by Ryzen Z1 Series processors with the launch of the ROG Ally.”

The ROG Ally runs Windows 11, meaning it can play any game from any platform, and includes 3 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate right out of the box.
