TECNO CAMON 18 Series officially launched in Kenya


Chinese smartphone maker Tecno Mobile has officially launched the Camon 18 series of devices in the Kenyan market. The devices that include the Camon 18, Camon 18P and Camon 18 Premier were launched on Monday.

The three devices will be available for purchase starting this week. TECNO is selling the Tecno Camon 18 for Kshs 22,199, the Tecno Camon 18P: Kshs 27,699 while the headliner Tecno Camon 18 Premier will be available for Kshs 39,099.

Camon 18 Premier

The Tecno Camon 18 Premier as we mentioned earlier was the main headline for the launch. The phone comes with a 6.70-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1,080×2,400 pixels. It comes with 8GB of RAM and some 256GB of internal storage

For the cameras, the Tecno Camon 18 Premier on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 64-megapixel primary camera; a gimbal-stabilized 12-megapixel sensor, and an 8-megapixel periscope zoom lens that supports 60x hyperzoom. I also need to mention that there is a moon probe feature that captures images of the moon using the Galileo algorithm. The selfie camera on the other hand is a 32-megapixel sensor.

The phone runs Hi OS 8.0 based on Android 11 and comes with the recently released MediaTek Helio G96 chipset.  

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Camon 18P

The Camon 18pP comes with a 6.80-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2460 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20.5:9. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G96 processor and comes with 8GB of RAM with 128GB of inbuilt storage. 

The phone runs Android 11 and is powered by a 5000mAh battery, slightly bigger to what we have on the Camon 18 Premier. 

For the cameras the Tecno Camon 18P on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel primary camera; a 2-megapixel camera, and a 13-megapixel camera. The selfie camera is an 16-megapixel sensor.

The Tecno Camon 18P runs HIOS 8 based on Android 11.

The Camon 18 is the lastborn child here. It comes with a 6.80-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2460 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20.5:9. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 processor and comes with 4GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. 

 The Tecno Camon 18 runs Android 11 and is powered by a 5000mAh battery.

It packs a triple camera setup featuring a 48-megapixel primary camera; a 2-megapixel camera, and a 2-megapixel camera. The selfie camera is a 16-megapixel sensor.
