Motorola Announces a new foldable phone

The foldable phone market is growing, now with a variety of options. Motorola became of the first companies to release a folding phone in the market. After the Motorola Razr, the company is back with a sequel.

The second-generation Motorola Razr foldable phone improves on what the original one offered from the design to the internals. As for the price, the Razr still goes for a four-figure dollar MSRP ($1,399.99).

Motorola Razr includes a 6.7-inch OLED display as the main screen with 876 x 2142pixels resolution. When closed, you get a sneak peek of your notifications from a 2.7-inch 792 x 600 external OLED display. Both the external and internal display has Gorilla Glass 5 on top for scratch resistance.

Under the hood, there aren’t killer specs. The Razr has 8GB of memory, 256GB non-expandable storage, a 2,800mAh battery, and a single 48MP, f/1.7 aperture camera with hardware image stabilization. It also has a 20MP single selfie camera and doesn’t include a headphone jack.

It’s clear Motorola isn’t selling what’s under the hood for a premium – it’s the ambitious folding technology. Against the original Razr, the new one includes several software tweaks that leverage the design to the fullest.

Unfortunately, like the original Razr, the new one isn’t coming to Africa. It will only be available in the US, and select markets in Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
