Samsung Galaxy S20 series officially unveiled in Kenya


Samsung has unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S20 in Kenya. Pre-orders for the device went live on February 25th and ended on 12th March. 

Consumers will be able to purchase the device from their nearest authorised Samsung retailer.

Samsung launched three different Galaxy S series devices – Galaxy S20 that will be available for Ksh92,999, S20 Plus for Ksh.103,999 and S20 Ultra that will retail at Ksh. 129,999.

“As we enter this new decade, how we communicate and how we experience the world around us has evolved. Samsung is, therefore, providing a next-generation device for transforming people’s lives. With an incredible AI-powered camera, you can capture the moments as they happen and connect more seamlessly with the people you love ” said Dudu Mokholo, Chief Marketing Officer at Samsung Central Africa.

At the same time, Samsung also announced that it will soon release the much-anticipated Galaxy Z Flip into the Kenyan market. The flip is expected to retail at Ksh.160,000 according to Samsung. 



The Galaxy Z Flip comes with 6.70-inch touchscreen primary display with a resolution of 1080×2636 pixels at a pixel density of 425 pixels per inch (ppi). It also has a second display which is 1.10-inch, with a resolution of 112×300 pixels at a pixel density of 303 pixels per inch (ppi).

It is powered by a 2.95GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage and runs One UI 2.0 based on Android 10.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip runs Android 10 and is powered by a 3300mAh battery. It also supports wireless charging.

For the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip packs a 12-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a pixel size of 1.4-micron and a second 12-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12-micron. The selfie camera is 10-megapixel with an f/2.4 aperture and a pixel size of 1.22-micron.

As we mentioned the Galaxy S20 series devices and the flip (When it finally launches in Kenya) can be purchased from authorised Samsung retailers across the country.
