Jumia Expects Massive Turn Out For November Black Friday Sale

With Black Friday deals looming, expect massive deals from your favorite e-commerce stores. Kenya’s biggest online retailer, Jumia Kenya, is also pumped up for the occasion. Today, the company said this year’s Jumia Black Friday sale is themed “The Biggest Save of the Year.”

Massive deals will be available on the company’s website – up to 90% off on 10 million products. Some brands you should be expecting massive savings from include Nivea, Samsung, Jameson, Hotpoint, Huggies, Unilever, Maybelline, and Uka.

“Our teams have been working hand in hand with vendors to offer our customers the best Black Friday. We will feature once-in-a-year discounts across 10M products, so there is something for everyone. The biggest deals will be exclusively on the Jumia App – so download it now!” said Jumia Kenya CEO, Sam Chappatte.

Jumia Kenya expects 35% of internet users to log into the Jumia website during this 2019 Black Friday. To put this into perspective, the company hopes to draw 16 million visits on its website from Kenyans.

The company’s push to have App only deals have pushed sales originating from the app from 30% in January to 48% in October. Desktop traffic has dropped massively by 20%, which, most of it, has been taken over by smartphones.

The e-commerce retailer has also partnered with Airtel Kenya in this sale. Customers will get free 6GB Airtel data for purchasing smartphones from Jumia’s warehouse (Jumia Express). In addition to that, there is also a 10 percent discount available for using Airtel Money.

Jumia’s mobile app will still offer the most in terms of deals. App-only deals will include discount vouchers, flash sales, golden tickets (50K voucher), among other perks like Mbuzi for 1K and motorbikes (Bodaboda) at Kes 100 bob.

To get the most out of the upcoming sale, downloading the mobile app is recommended. Deals will be running from as early as 9.00 AM, and the company also says “extra surprises” will be available every Friday throughout the period (8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th).

Remember Jumia has also partnered with the Postal Corporation of Kenya (Posta) to expand its pickup up stations.  What this means is that Jumia customers will now be able to pick their deliveries from different postal outlets across the country.

Jumia Black Friday deals will run from 8th – 29th November.
