Vivo set to launch its smartphones in Kenya soon


You probably haven’t heard about Vivo, but if you watched last years World Cup, you have seen the company as one of the sponsors. Vivo, a Chinese smartphone maker and subsidiary to the third largest smartphone company, BBK Electronics, is soon launching in Kenya.

Vivo has gained its popularity in the world through its Vivo Nex device that pioneered the pop-up camera that everyone’s copying now.

It has been reported that the company’s executives spent a month or so last year January to study the Kenyan market and determine its suitability for their entry.


Via their new Twitter account, the company tweeted;

“Ladies and Gentlemen, are you into smart and trendy devices? The wait is almost over. Vivo Smartphone will soon be here with great and most trendy devices in the market. Are you ready?!#VivoMobileKE#ComingSoon.”

Additionally, for mobile gaming enthusiasts, Vivo Kenya’s new device to be launched will probably sort you out according to the company’s tweets.

Joining its sister company Oppo, Vivo is ready to be deep its roots into the Kenyan market but will they be able to compete effectively with the  Transsion Holdings subsidiaries TECNO, Infinix, and Itel? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
