Jumia launches 2nd white paper on mobile trends, announces start of Mobile Week


Online retailer, Jumia yesterday announced the start of Jumia Mobile week. The company has partnered with smartphone manufacturing companies; Infinix, Tecno, Wiko,X-Tigi and Injoo, a partnership that will see customers enjoy huge discounts on mobile devices.

The company also launched its second white paper on Mobile trends. The paper, takes a look at mobile trends across Africa and Kenya. In particular, the paper looks at how mobile penetration, massive growth of internet connectivity and e-commerce have converged to change consumer behaviour and retail in Kenya. It offers quantitative insights into the usage patterns, consumption, choices, lifestyle and habits of mobile phone users in Kenya through a survey conducted by Jumia.

“Kenya’s digital landscape proves beyond doubts that the time is ripe to make mobile the first priority in every business strategy.” Parinaz Firozi, MD Jumia Kenya said.

The event also saw a hamper of six new smartphone model launched from the gold partners of the Jumia Mobile Week, including Wiko Fever, Innjoo fire 2 and Fire 2 Plus, Innjoo Halo Plus, Infinix Hot 3 LTE and Tecno 7E Tablet that will retail at; Ksh. 19,999, 7,569, 11,769, 6,129, 11,699 and 14,499 respectively.

Dubbed Mobile Week Reloaded, the Jumia Mobile Week will take place between May 30th and June 3rd. Customers who purchase mobile handsets during the sale will enjoy up to 50% discounts, countrywide delivery and the option to pay on delivery and a flexible return and exchange policy of 7 days.
