Google and Twitter team up to bring real-time tweets to google search

Google has teamed up with twitter to bring real-time tweets to Google Search.  The two companies had a similar deal previously, but it ended in 2011 after Google came up its own social network Google plus.

Starting today however, Google says it is bringing tweets to Google Search on mobile devices. So now when you’re searching on the Google app or any browser on your phone or tablet, you can find real-time content from Twitter right in the search results.

”It’s a great way to get real-time info when something is happening. And it’s another way for organizations and people on Twitter to reach a global audience at the most relevant moments.” Ardan Arac, senior product manager at Google, said.

When tapping on a Tweet in Google search, you’ll be taken directly to Twitter where you can view the Tweet and discover additional content.

”We’re excited to team up with Google to bring Twitter’s unique, real-time content to Google’s search results. Starting today, U.S. users searching in English will see relevant Tweets in their search results within the Google app (iOS and Android) and mobile web” twitter said in a blog post.

By deeply integrating Twitter’s real-time content into Google search, twitter says it hopes users will find it easier than ever to explore their interests across both Twitter and Google.

”To start, we’re launching this on in English in the Google app (on Android and iOS) and on mobile browsers, rolling out gradually. We’re working on bringing it to more languages and to desktop” Google said.
