Oppo Reno 8 series officially launched in Kenya


Oppo on Tuesday officially launched its latest devices in the Reno 8 series in Kenya comprising the Oppo Reno8 5G and Oppo Reno8 4G.

The phones will be available for KES 59,999 KSH for the 5G variant while the Reno8 4G is priced at KES 42,999 KSH. Pre-orders will start from October, 26th to 31st, 2022 through Oppo e-commerce partners and across all Oppo stores in the country. 

The Reno 8 5G was the main highlight featuring  Dual Sony Flagship Sensors — the IMX709 for the front camera and the IMX766 for the rear camera. 

The phone comes with a 90 Hz refresh rate 6.43-inch touchscreen display offering a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels (FHD+). With certification for Netflix HD and Amazon Prime Video HD, the display of this phone allows users to enjoy the best video content out there.  It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1300 5G-integrated SoC. Built on the 6nm process, the octa-core SoC includes an ARM Cortex-A78 ultra-core that operates at up to 3GHz to deliver the ultimate computing power. The standard build comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage

The Oppo Reno 8  runs Android 12 and is powered by a 4500mAh battery with support for Oppo’s 80W SUPERVOOC charge that can charge up to 50% in just 11 minutes. 

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Oppo Reno 8 5G features a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel (f/1.8) primary camera; a 2-megapixel (f/2.2) camera, and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4, macro) camera. There’s a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring a 32-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

The Reon8 on the other hand comes with amazing functionalities such as 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging technology and a 4,500mAh battery that can be charged 100% in just 60 minutes. The phone is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G processor and comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM.

Oppo Reno8 5G will be available in Shimmer Gold and Shimmer Black, while Oppo Reno8 will be available in Dawnlight old and Starlight Black colour options.
