DELL Refreshes Latitude 9000, 7000 and 5000 Series with new Laptops
Latitude 9420, 9520, 7520 and 5420 are the latest offerings from the company
CES 2021 is around the corner, and a plethora of companies are gearing up to showcase their new hardware products. Dell Technologies has decided to pull the trigger earlier ahead of the tech event announcing new laptops in its Latitude 9000, 7000, and 5000 Series.
The company announced four new laptops; two laptops under the 9000 series — Latitude 9420 (starts at $1,949) and Latitude 9520(price not revealed) — Latitude 7520, and Latitude 5420 starting at $1649 and $1049, respectively.
Dell built its latest offerings in correspondence to the rapid shift in remote work and learning. Across the new laptops, the company has the so-called Dell Optimizer software built-in that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to suit such use cases by optimizing application performance, battery life, audio quality, and connectivity.
For instance, it offers background noise-canceling, auto-mute, and can prioritize network bandwidth to demanding software like when you’re on a video call to prevent calls from dropping.
Latitude 9420 sports Intel’s latest 11th Gen processors and a privacy-oriented camera that automatically shuts down when not in use. It’s part of the Intel® Evo™ platform. That means it includes at least an Intel Core i5 11th gen processor Intel Xe integrated graphics, has solid battery life (at least 9hours at FHD), and can wake from sleep in less than 1 second.
Latitude 9420 will be available in two form-factors; standard clamshell and 2-in-1. The Latitude 9520 also features a privacy-focused camera, but Dell is yet to reveal more about the laptop.
Latitude 7520 is a bigger laptop with a 15-inch 4K UHD display and an FHD camera all at an asking price of $1649 – around Ksh 180, 000. There’s little information on 5420, but Dell touts it as an environmentally friendly device.
Dell says Latitude 7520 and 5420 will be available this month in select markets but plans to avail the 9420 and 9520 later.
