Samsung Cuts Galaxy Buds3 Price by 62pc in Nairobi Promo

Samsung cut the price of its Galaxy Buds3 earbuds by 62 percent in September, the steepest discount in the Galleria Mall leg of its Connected Living promotion.

The earbuds sold at Sh7,200, down from Sh18,999, while the entry-level Galaxy Buds Core went for Sh4,800.

The Galleria activation came ahead of Samsung’s Sarit Centre showcase in early October. It combined in-store discounts with demonstrations of SmartThings, Samsung’s platform for linking and controlling compatible devices from a smartphone.

Appliance offers ran through Carrefour and Hotpoint and closed on the final day of the Galleria activation.

Hotpoint priced Samsung’s 10kg washing machine at Sh85,490, down from Sh107,990, a cut of about 21 percent. Washer-dryer combinations started at Sh94,990.

Carrefour offered Samsung refrigerators from Sh87,990.

Televisions carried some of the widest price ranges in the promotion. Discounts on Crystal UHD models reached 31 percent.

The 55-inch Mini LED set was priced at Sh72,990, while the 65-inch OLED, Samsung’s premium display line, went for Sh237,490.

Beyond pricing, Samsung used the Galleria showcase to promote AI Energy Mode, a SmartThings feature that tracks electricity use across connected devices, from washing machines to televisions.

A refrigerator on display showed 6.48 kilowatt-hours consumed for the month, alongside the equivalent cost in shillings.

The feature puts electricity costs in front of households weighing the cost of large appliances. It also gives Samsung an argument beyond price as it pushes buyers to add more connected devices to their homes.
