Factorial Backs Kenya HR Push With $10M AI Fund in KEPSA Partnership

HR and business management software firm Factorial has partnered with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) to drive technology adoption across Kenyan businesses, underwriting the push with a USD $10 million AI Acceleration Fund that will cover up to 50 per cent of implementation costs for its AI agent.

The announcement was made at a KEPSA Members’ breakfast in Nairobi, where private sector leaders pointed to fragmented systems and manual processes as a drag on national competitiveness.

Mary Ngecha, Managing Director of Lineplant Group and KEPSA Director, said the timing was critical. “Our private sector is currently under pressure to manage short-term cost pressures amidst executing our long-term growth strategy. Manufacturing and services together account for 76 per cent of the country’s GDP.”

“We have to come up with new ways of attracting, managing, and maximising the productivity of our workforces,” she added. “Workforce productivity needs to be our national priority.”

Factorial’s platform is tailored for organisations with between 20 and 2,000 employees, a segment that accounts for over 80 per cent of Kenya’s workforce and close to 40 per cent of GDP, according to World Bank data. The software consolidates hiring, onboarding, payroll, performance management, shift scheduling, expense reporting, and IT budget control into a single cloud-based interface, with integrations across Microsoft and Google product suites.

Francesc Rul·lan, Factorial’s Director of Expansion Strategy & Partnerships, said fragmentation remained the defining challenge for Kenyan employers. “Many organisations in Kenya continue to struggle in terms of productivity, efficiency and competitiveness due to fragmented processes. In order to accelerate the digital transformation and unlock productivity gains, adoption of modern technology in HR is essential.”

The company has opened a local office in Nairobi to support implementation and on-the-ground customer operations, and has identified Kenya as its regional hub for East Africa expansion.
