“We are so excited to bring such innovation to Kenya as TECNO, and we can’t wait for the reviews and what our customers will experience with our PHANTOM V-FOLD. This is a debut for us as TECNO, emphasizing that we are truly BEYOND EXTRAORDINARY.” Said Ray Fang, TECNO Country Manager.

TECNO becomes the second smartphone company to bring a foldable smartphone in Kenya after Samsung. The PHANTOM V Fold will now go head to head with Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Z Fold4 for anyone looking to buy a foldable phone.

The PHANTOM V Fold is powered by a flagship 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC, that has also been used on the Oppo Find N2 Flip.

When closed, it has a 6.42-inch LTPO AMOLED cover display with a resolution of 1080×2550 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. When opened, it features a larger 7.85-inch (2000×2296) main display, which also is a 120Hz LTPO panel. This is actually a way larger screen than what we have on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

For the cameras, the Tecno PHANTOM V Fold features an ultra-clear 5-lens camera system, three of these cameras are on the back – a 50-megapixel main camera, another 50-megapixel 2x zoom camera, and a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera. The two selfie cameras on the other hand are 32-megapixel on the front screen and 16-megapixel on the inside.

When it comes to the battery,  the TECNO PHANTOM V Fold comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging. It does not have a wireless charging option.

TECNO plans to officially make the PHANTOM V-FOLD in Kenya later this month, bringing the most affordable foldable device to the market. Pre-orders can be made via the PHANTOM website, select TECNO stores, and Safaricom Shops.
