Xiaomi plunges into the gaming market with a 75″ inch Redmi XT Gaming TV

Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi continues to raise the bar by launching products that directly go into competition with more established brands.

In Kenya, for instance, a series of Redmi phones have curved a niche that’s giving traditional brands a good run for their money.

The company seems to just have gotten started. Earlier this week, Xiaomi launched the RedMI XT Gaming TV, built to give users a unique gaming experience. To start with, it has a resolution of 4K HDR (3840 x 2160 pixels), which goes to show that it’s built to stand out.

The Redmi XT is powered by a quad-core A73 processor and comes with an internal  memory storage configuration of 3GB and 32GB. This is good enough to start off your download for applications and multimedia content.

Things get more exciting when you tune up the  Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, which brings on board up to 94% coverage on the DCI-P3 color gamut.

It has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and additional support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), certified by AMD FreeSync Premium. This allows a gamer to experience the tearing and stuttering phenomena present in video games.

The set is built with HDMI 2.1, two HDMI 2.0 inputs, two USB 2.0 connectors, S / PDIF, and port Ethernet, and supports WiFi networks at 2.4 and 5.0 GHz for better support of external devices.

We expect more details of the Redmi XT Gaming TV in the coming days, but it’s already available in three different sizes, 55″ , 65″  and the largest is 75″ . It can be pre-ordered on Xiaomi China’s official website and other major Chinese stores.

This is a major milestone for the company that was founded in 2010 and seems to get it’s marketing mix right in several dimensions.
