Who needs a valentine’s smartphone upgrade?
Xiaomi has just released their new Redmi branded phone, Redmi 9T, available at all partner stores across the country. Xiaomi Redmi 9T sports a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with a dewdrop notch that is home to a single selfie camera. The display is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3.
The phone has four cameras, led by a 48 mega-pixel f/1.8 wide lens aided by an 8 megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide with a 120˚ field of view, a 2 mega-pixel macro, and another 2-megapixel depth sensor. The rear camera setup can shoot FHD videos at 1080p resolution.
On the front is the 8MP selfie camera. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Xiaomi Redmi 9T has a massive 6000mAh battery, which shouldn’t take forever to charge thanks to the 18W fast charging support.
There’s Android 10-based MIUI 12. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side, and the phone has dual stereo speakers for better sound quality.
Xiaomi Redmi 9T is already available retailing at Ksh 18,599 in carbon gray and ocean green.
Comparing Xiaomi’s latest device to Huawei’s latest Y7A, the 9T is slightly cheaper. The two have similarities, too, from the 48 mega-pixel quad camera on the rear, 8 mega-pixel selfie camera side-mounted fingerprint, and fast charging support.
