Make use of your phone while charging via this new Google Assistant feature

After first teasing about the feature in September, Google has provided new and more details on the new Assistant ambient Mode. In a video, Google detailed how the new Google Assistant feature could be utilized to make your phone helpful while charging.

Google Assistant Ambient mode helps you turn your phone into a digital photo frame, music controller, as well as help you control other smart devices around your house, among others.

In a video released today, Android product manager, Arvind Chandrababu said the new feature is here to help you accomplish tasks with few clicks.  Ambient Mode changes the Mode of working from being based on solely the app to become intent-based.

“Now with one tap, you can set the alarm, you can look at what time your first meeting is the next day, you can turn off the lights, and you can also have a slide show of your photo memories,” he stated.

He says that Ambient Mode is deeply integrated into the Android OS. In the future, Arvind reveals that Google has several similar features upcoming for future OEM devices.

Ambient Mode has reportedly started rolling out to Nokia and Xiaomi devices in the past week. The feature is also headed to select devices from Sony and also Transsion, which is the parent company of Tecno, Infinix, and Itel. You will need to have a device running at least Android 8.0 Oreo and above to get this functionality.
