Infinix S5 With Punch-Hole Dsplay and Quad Camera Setup Launched


Infinix Mobile has today officially launched the Infinix S5 in India. The S5 follows Infinix S4, which was launched in Kenya back in April. The company has made massive improvements on this one, part of the main highlights being the punch-hole display instead of a waterdrop notch and a quad-camera setup on the back.

The phone comes with a 6.6-inch FHD+ IPS display. Not forgetting the punch hole placed at the left upper side of the display housing a 32MP camera with AI capabilities.

The selfie camera boasts of several functionalities such as AR Animoji, and 3D face beauty. The large display is presented in a 20:9 aspect ratio with the punch hole pushing the device to achieve a high screen to body ratio of 90.5 percent.

On the back of the device, you find a quad-camera setup placed on the top left with an LED flash next to the camera array and a fingerprint center aligned at the center. As for the cameras, the device comes with a 16MP primary camera, 5MP wide-angle lens (114-degree field-of-view), a 2MP depth sensor, and 2.5cm range Super Macro lens.

Under the hood, Infinix S5, like its predecessor, still retains the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset clocked at 2GHz. The device comes in one memory configuration – 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM. Infinix S5 comes with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box splashed on top with XOS 5.5.

You can get the phone in two color variants; Quetzal Cyan and Violet.

Infinix S5 Price and Availability in Kenya

Infinix S5 has been announced today by the company in India and slated to hit the shelves on Oct. 21st. The phone has been launched at a price of Rs. 8999 which is approx. Ksh 13,100. It is obvious that slight variations may apply to the price when the phone launches in Kenya.

The local office has not yet made any announcements on the same, but we will update you when a Kenyan launch date is pinned down. As per now, Infinix S5 is unavailable in Kenya.
