Windows 10 Will Soon Allow Fresh Installation From The Cloud

Microsoft Windows for ages has been lacking a way to let users perform a fresh installation of Windows from the cloud. This is, of course, although MacOS has boasted with this feature for years. However, soon, Windows will also be able to be downloaded directly from the cloud.

In a blog post, Microsoft stated they are Introducing a new Reset this PC option–Cloud Download that will complement the already local reinstallation. Till date, Windows reinstallation meant that you need to have a copy of Windows stored locally on your drive (which has risks of being corrupted) or using an external drive.

The new option will prove useful, and reinstallation will be even easier. The company still insists performing this operation will wipe your apps and even more checking “Remove everything” will wipe all your data.

Additionally, note that fresh install will “reinstall the same build, version, and edition, that is currently installed on your device.”
