Budget Itel A37 Launched in Kenya for Ksh 6,960

Itel has launched its first device of the year in Kenya, itel A37, a budget phone that sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. itel A37’s predecessor, itel A36 featured a relatively smaller 5.5-inch panel with similar resolution but lacked a waterdrop notch.

Itel A37 runs on 1GB of memory paired with 16GB of onboard storage. Itel A37 comes with Android 10 Go Edition, which should ensure acceptable performance for a phone of its calibre. Additionally, it includes an app freezer that ensures only the frequently used apps running in the background to prevent performance hiccups.

You get two camera lenses on the device – a 5MP lens in the rear and a 2MP lens on the front placed in the notch.

The battery packs 3020mAh, charging at 5W. There’s no fingerprint sensor, a non-issue for its price, but the company has included handy facial recognition technology for face unlock.

Itel A37 is available in Kenya at a recommended retail price of Ksh  6,960. The phone is available in three colours, dark blue, light purple, and gradient green.
