Xiaomi has officially unveiled the REDMI Note 15 Series, marking a significant leap in mid-range smartphone engineering with the introduction of “REDMI Titan Durability.”
Launched today in Nairobi, the new lineup, consisting of the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G, REDMI Note 15 Pro, and the standard REDMI Note 15, combines ruggedized hardware with high-tier imaging and artificial intelligence.
The series is built on the REDMI Titan Structure, a design philosophy that integrates high-strength motherboards and reinforced mid-frames. The flagship REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G achieves an SGS Premium Performance Certification, surviving drop tests from heights of up to 2.5 meters. This structural integrity is bolstered by Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2 and a specialized fiberglass back panel for superior impact absorption.
Beyond physical impact resistance, Xiaomi has significantly upgraded environmental protection. The Pro+ 5G model meets IP66, IP68, and the rigorous IP69K standards, certifying it for deep-water immersion and high-pressure cleaning. To ensure usability in Kenya’s varied weather conditions, the entire series features Wet Touch 2.0 technology, allowing the screen to remain fully responsive even when covered in raindrops or handled with wet fingers.
Powering these devices is a breakthrough in battery chemistry. The series debuts Silicon-Carbon (SiC) battery technology, which allows for higher energy density in a thinner profile. The REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G features a massive 6,500mAh battery capable of 100W HyperCharge. When managed by the Xiaomi Surge battery system, these units are designed to last over 1,600 charge cycles, providing users with approximately six years of reliable battery health.
In the photography, Xiaomi continues to push boundaries. The REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G features a 200MP HPE image sensor, offering lossless 2× and 4× in-sensor zoom. The Pro models provide a versatile focal range from 23mm to 92mm, while the standard Note 15 utilizes a 108MP system with a 3× optical-level telephoto experience.
This hardware is supported by a suite of AI-powered tools developed in collaboration with Google. Users can access “Circle to Search” and “Google Gemini” for intuitive information gathering. Creative edits are streamlined through the AI Creativity Assistant, which includes features like AI Remove Reflection and AI Beautify, allowing for professional-quality social media content directly from the device.
The series is powered by the latest Snapdragon® and MediaTek platforms. Notably, the Pro+ 5G utilizes the Snapdragon® 7s Gen 4 and introduces the Xiaomi IceLoop cooling system—a Liquid Heat Pipe (LHP) solution that offers triple the heat-transfer efficiency of previous models. For connectivity, the Pro models introduce Xiaomi Offline Communication, enabling kilometer-level voice transmission in remote areas without cellular network coverage.
The Xiaomi REDMI Note 15 Series is available in Kenya starting today with the following pricing:
The flagship REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G starts at KES 54,999, available in Mocha Brown, Glacier Blue, and Black. The REDMI Note 15 Pro starts at KES 36,999, featuring a distinct Titanium Color option. The REDMI Note 15 offers the most accessible entry point starting at KES 24,999, available in Forest Green, Purple, Glacier Blue, and Black.
To coincide with the launch, Xiaomi Kenya has partnered with Onfon to offer the “Lipa Pole Pole” financing plan, which includes a 5% discount on deposits and 15% off installments. Early buyers of the Note 15 or 15 Pro will also receive a free pair of Redmi Buds 6 Play.
