
The wait is finally over for music enthusiasts across the continent. Spotify has officially launched 2025 Wrapped, the highly anticipated annual campaign that transforms user listening habits into a personalized “highlight reel” of the year.
Describing this year’s edition as “bigger, bolder, and more revealing,” Spotify has overhauled the experience to include nearly a dozen new features alongside the classic data points fans have come to expect. From Afrobeats in Lagos to Gengetone in Nairobi, the 2025 edition aims to capture the sonic identity of listeners with more precision than ever before.
While the classic “Top Songs” and “Minutes Listened” metrics return, Spotify has introduced several interactive and AI-driven features to deepen the experience:
- Wrapped Party: For the first time, Spotify is gamifying the data. This new interactive feature turns listening habits into a live competition that users can play with friends.
- Listening Archive: Powered by AI, this feature provides personalized snapshots of a user’s most memorable streaming days (available in English in select markets).
- Top Artist Sprint: A visual race chart showing how a user’s top five artists shifted in rankings month by month.
- Clubs: Users are now sorted into one of six “Clubs” based on their unique listening style.
- Listening Age: A demographic comparison that analyzes the release years of the tracks a user streams most against others in their age group.
Additionally, the “Top Songs” playlist has been upgraded to display exactly how many times a user streamed each of their top 100 tracks.
Responding to user feedback, the 2025 experience offers improved navigation. Users can now adjust the playback speed of their Wrapped stories and jump back to specific moments without having to restart the entire presentation.
How to Access Your 2025 Spotify Wrapped
The 2025 Wrapped experience is available exclusively on the Spotify mobile app (iOS and Android) for both Free and Premium users. To be eligible, users must have:
- Streamed at least 30 songs for more than 30 seconds each.
- Listened to at least five different artists during the year.
Streams from “Private Mode” or playlists excluded from a user’s Taste Profile are not calculated in the final results.
The campaign also extends to the other side of the studio. Artists, songwriters, and podcasters can access their own individualized Wrapped microsites to explore how fans connected with their work throughout 2025.
Spotify has also announced that the celebration will move offline with pop-up experiences and activations across Sub-Saharan Africa and the globe.
Users can access their personalized data by opening the Spotify app and tapping the Wrapped feed at the top of the Home screen or searching for “2025 Wrapped.”
