Xiaomi Launches Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro in Kenya
The new series boasts AMOLED displays, large batteries and 33W fast charging tech
Xiaomi Redmi Note series is now available in Kenya. Xiaomi Kenya launched the new devices under the company’s budget Redmi series on Saturday. The company globally launched Redmi Note 10 series in February.
Under the Redmi Note 10 series, there are two models available in Kenya – the vanilla Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10 Pro. There’s also a Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, but that isn’t coming to Kenya.
The two available models have refreshed designs and still aim to provide value for money like the previous Redmi Note 9 launched in 2020.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10
The cheapest variant available is a modest 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ (1080 x 2400) resolution. It includes Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and comes in a 20:9 ratio. Redmi Note 10’s display has 450 nits brightness(typ.), but it tops at 1100nits, making for a bright panel.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 processor paired with an Adreno 612 GPU. The Redmi Note 10 has a variety of RAM/storage configurations – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There’s a dedicated microSD card slot if you want even more storage.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 boasts a 48MP quad-camera setup with a 48 MP main camera (f/1.8, wide, 1/2.0″, 0.8µm, PDAF), an 8 MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera with 118˚ FOV, a 2 MP, f/2.4 macro camera and a 2 MP, f/2.4 depth sensor. On the front is a 13 MP f/2.5 wide selfie camera.
The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery, with 33W fast charging support.
Other key specifications include Bluetooth 5.0, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and IP53 certification for dust and splash protection, and stereo speakers. It runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12 atop.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro
The Pro model provides extra features to the vanilla model. It has a slightly larger 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 450 nits (typ) brightness – and 1200 nits peak brightness. The Pro version has HDR10 support which is lacking on the regular Note 10.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro is also powered by a more powerful Snapdragon 732G processor. On the camera department, Samsung’s flagship 108MP camera leads the rear-facing quad-camera system. It is aided by an 8 MP, f/2.2 ultrawide camera with 118 FOV, a 5 MP f/2.4 macro camera with Autofocus, and a 2 MP, f/2.4 depth sensor. It uses a 16MP selfie camera placed in a centrally aligned hole punch.
The Redmi Note 10 Pro includes a slightly bigger 5020 mAh battery but supports similar 33W fast charging speeds. It also includes Bluetooth 5.1 support, stereo speakers, glass back and glass front with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and IP53, dust and splash protection.
It’s also running Android 11 with MIUI 12 out of the box.
The Pro model will be available in variant RAM/storage options as well in Kenya.
