HMD Global launching the Nokia 1.4 in Kenya soon

HMD Global has announced plans to unveils its latest entry-level platform, the Nokia 1.4 in Kenya soon.

The new Nokia phone comes nearly a year after the debut of the Nokia 1.3 that was launched last year although we never saw it selling locally.

As an upgrade to the Nokia 1.3 the new Nokia 1.4 boasts slightly refreshed design that includes a dual-camera setup, and a rear fingerprint scanner.

The Nokia 1.4 comes packing a 6.51-inch display, almost a full inch bigger than its predecessor, and the largest ever to feature on a 1 series Nokia.

The phone’s new expanded HD+ screen also comes into its own with video calling apps.

The internals are not bad either for this entry-level Android Go-powered smartphone. The phone utilizes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 chipset with 1GB, 2GB, or 3GB of RAM available alongside 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of microSD expandable storage (up to 128GB). A dedicated Google Assistant button and headphone port also make the cut here too.

The Nokia 1.4 also offers a bigger, 4,000mAh battery over the 3,000mAh one that we saw on the Nokia 1.3. It is also based on Google’s Android Go programme.

HMD’s local office does not mention when it exactly plans to launch the device including the price tag. Hopefully, we will be seeing it on the shelves before the month ends.

The Nokia 1.4 will be available in Kenya in Charcoal, Dusk, and Fjord colours.
