Infinix HOT S3 Unboxing and First Thoughts
Infinix unveiled the Infinix HOT S3 a few days ago. As we have previously mentioned, the phone was unveiled back in January, but it never saw its way to Kenya until now. Infinix decided to launch it just a few days before the global launch of the Infinix NOTE 5.
We have covered the specs in all our previous articles but if you missed it you can check them below.

Unboxing
The Infinix HOT S3 comes in a simple green packaging, nothing really special about it.
Opening the box you have the HOT S3 unit itself.
Opening the box further you get the usual accessories which include a micro USB cable, a 2A USB wall charger, sim ejector tool, protective case, screen guard, earphones, user manual and some warranty information. That’s all you have in the box.
First thoughts
The Infinix HOT S3 sports a 5.7-inch screen with 18:9 display aspect ratio. We won’t go so much into explaining this but the 18.9 screen ratio is a trend every smartphone manufacturer is now adopting.
The device has a unibody design with a plastic body and a metallic look. The curvy edges make it really nice to hold in the hands.
At the top of the display, you have the 20MP front camera with dual LED flash. It is also here that you have the speakers.
The 3.5 mm audio jack is located at top of the device.
The micro USB port and speakers, on the other hand, are all the bottom.
The 13MP main camera is located at the upper left side with the dual LED flash right below it. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the center.
The power and volume control buttons are all on the right side while the SIM slot is on the left and supports 2x SIM and 1 microSD card slot.
The Infinix HOT S3 comes with Android 8.0 out of the box with Infinix’s XOS 3.0. I like the UI, it looks simple, nice and easy to use. The app drawer is arranged in alphabetical order so you won’t have problems finding your favorite app. You also have a variety of wallpapers to choose from.
What I like so far:
- The design
- The 18.9 aspect ratio
- 4,000mAh battery (Infinix does not always disappoint when it comes to the battery)
- Fingerprint security
What I don’t like
- The pricing: Infinix is selling the device at Ksh.18,999 which I find quite expensive.
Well, we have a full review coming up in a few weeks so I will definitely be telling you more about the device including its performance.
