Samsung Care+ cuts screen repair costs across East Africa

Samsung is expanding access to Care+, a service plan that allows owners of eligible Galaxy smartphones in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia to repair accidental damage, most commonly cracked screens, at a subsidised fee through the company’s authorised service network.

In Kenya, a Care+ screen repair costs KES 15,693 (about USD 122) for Galaxy Z series devices, KES 7,847 (about USD 61) for the S series, KES 3,923 (about USD 30) for A series models from the A32 to the A73, and KES 3,139 (about USD 24) for models from the A14 to the A27.

That compares with open-market prices of between KES 15,000 and more than KES 30,000 for an out-of-warranty screen replacement on an A or S series device in Kenya, representing a significant saving for customers who register on time.

Care+ runs separately from Samsung’s standard 24-month warranty, which covers manufacturer defects free of charge for two years from purchase. The new plan instead covers accidental damage from everyday handling, runs for 12 months from device activation and requires customers to register within 30 days. Each plan covers one qualifying screen repair, carried out by trained technicians using genuine Samsung parts.

Fees in the other markets follow the same four-tier structure. In Tanzania, repairs range from TZS 64,138 for entry-level A series devices to TZS 320,689 for the Z series. Ugandan customers will pay between UGX 89,452 and UGX 447,262, while in Ethiopia fees range from ETB 3,913 to ETB 19,563.

The plan is available only on select genuine Samsung smartphones sold with a 24-month warranty and does not apply to grey-import devices. Newly launched Fold and Flip models are not yet covered locally, as they are not officially ranged in these markets with an applicable 24-month warranty.

How to register

Customers can register online at samsungcareplus.com by entering their device’s IMEI or serial number. Owners of newer phones running One UI 9, including the Galaxy S26 FE, A08 and A18 series, can also sign up directly on the device via Settings, then Warranty & Care.

For repairs or support, customers are directed to Samsung’s authorised service centres. In Kenya, Samsung’s customer care line is 0800 545 545.
