Binance puts $100 million into Circle as USDC partnership expands

Binance has invested $100 million in Circle Internet Group as part of a renewed five-year strategic partnership to expand the use of USDC across Binance’s global platform, particularly in emerging markets.
The investment gives Binance shares in Circle Class A common stock, purchased through a private placement at a price reflecting a 5% discount to Circle’s market price before the transaction closed.
Under the renewed agreement, Binance will promote USDC across its platform, while Circle will provide infrastructure services to support the holding and use of the stablecoin.
The collaboration is expected to focus on increasing access to USDC in emerging markets, where the companies see opportunities to expand digital dollar access and the use of blockchain-based financial products.
“Circle has earned its place as one of the most credible issuers in the world spanning USDC, Arc and the infrastructure reshaping how value moves across borders. Our $100 million investment and five-year commitment represent long-duration conviction,” said Richard Teng, co-CEO of Binance. “We are helping to build a more inclusive, transparent, and compliant digital economy. A stable, trusted digital dollar should not be a privilege, it should be available to anyone with a phone. That’s the future this partnership is designed to deliver.”
USDC is a dollar-denominated stablecoin issued by Circle and designed to maintain a value of one US dollar. Its use across cryptocurrency trading, payments and other digital-asset applications has made it a key component of the digital-dollar market.
Circle said the expanded relationship with Binance could also support wider access to savings, investment and other digital-asset products in emerging markets.
“Binance has built one of the largest and most dynamic platforms in the world for using digital currency, creating the internet’s largest financial super app, and becoming the most widely used wallets in the world for dollar stablecoins,” said Jeremy Allaire, Co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Circle. “Together, we see incredible opportunities to leverage USDC to expand dollar access, support savings and investment with innovative digital asset products, and reach people and businesses throughout global emerging markets.”
Furthermore, the deal strengthens the existing relationship between the two companies as Binance seeks to expand the role of stablecoins across its international user base, while Circle continues to build distribution for USDC beyond traditional cryptocurrency markets.
