Windows Users You Have To Get Used to OS Problems, for now
Over the past few weeks, Microsoft has been experiencing issues with its software. Many Windows users reported bumping into a black screen when they tried to upgrade to the Windows June Update.
You may experience the same issue first time booting your PC after installing the update but don’t worry just hit the Ctrl+Alt+Delete buttons as Microsoft continues to work on a resolution.
Another problem that has befallen the Windows community is the lack of registry backup in the new version of Windows. Many users have reported the “bug” to Microsoft, but the company states it’s a feature implemented since last years major October Update version (Windows 10, version 1803).
“Starting in Windows 10, version 1803, Windows no longer automatically backs up the system registry to the RegBack folder. If you browse to the WindowsSystem32configRegBack folder in Windows Explorer, you will still see each registry hive, but each file is 0kb in size.”
The new approach as the company states is “to help reduce the overall disk footprint size of Windows.” Does the explanation hold any water? Apparently no since the registry files won’t typically surpass even 100MBs.
However, to back up your registry files alternatively, you may opt for third-party software or simply create a System Restore point.
