Jumia and Unilever Super Brand Day to offer massive discounts on consumer goods for online shoppers


Jumia Kenya will from Monday 25th February 2019 run the first ever-ever Jumia Super Brand Day, a one-day shopping event for online shoppers. The company has teamed up with consumer goods company Unilever East Africa in building up this online retail experience that will see customer enjoy huge discounts on Unilever products.

During the campaign, customers will be able to discover the best of what Unilever has to offer, including free samples of Sunlight, the launch of Domestos and value bundles exclusive to Jumia. Some of the specially curated offers which will include free pick up within Nairobi are;  Keep your toilet clean with Domestos at 50% off, Sunlight Lavender 1kg and Vim Lavender 1kg for only 299 Kshs (23% discount versus other retailers), keep your clothes dirt free with Omo 4.5Kg at 50% off and Keep teeth sparkling with Close up buy one get one free.

“More people are embracing online shopping for their day-to-day supplies, and the campaign is a testament to Jumia’s commitment to connect customers to the world’s largest brands. This is the first of many to come this year.” Jumia MD Sam Chapatte, says.

Some of the proceeds from this day will be dedicated to improving the lives of children across the country through donations to Kidogo Centers, a social enterprise that provides high-quality, affordable early childhood care and education for low-income families living in Kenya’s urban slums.

Commenting on this partnership, Luck Ochieng, Unilever Sales Director noted that will not only allow Unilever to offer cutting edge discounts to the ever-growing online shoppers but most importantly to create a bright future for hundreds of children.

“I am immensely proud of this campaign aimed at enhancing livelihoods of children within Kidogo Centers from the proceeds”.  He said.

The Jumia Super Brand Day campaign starts on February Monday 25th.
