Microsoft unveils Lumia 540 DUAL SIM into Kenyan Market
Just a month after launching a range of Lumia phones comprising Lumia 640, Lumia 640XL and the Lumia 430 Dual SIM into the Kenyan market, Microsoft is at it again. The company yesterday unveiled the Lumia 540 Dual SIM into the market; a smartphone it says has been designed for young, ambitious people looking for their first serious smart phones.
Upgradeable to Windows 10 when the service becomes available later this year, the Lumia 540 Dual SIM features a crisp, clear, 5-inch HD display; 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash; and 5-megapixel front-facing camera designed to take wide-angle selfies.
“The Lumia 540 Dual SIM is a welcome addition to our affordable Smartphone portfolio running on Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and Denim update,” Mariam Abdullahi, Microsoft Mobile Devices General Manger said.
“With 67% of all phones sold in Kenya in 2014, an estimated 1.8m devices being Smartphones, the growth of the Lumia portfolio presents a great opportunity for the discerning middle class Kenyan to own a smartphone that helps them increase their productivity in their personal and work life.” She added.
Available in black, Microsoft says the Lumia 540 Dual SIM will help people stay productive on-the-go with Microsoft services such as Skype and Office available pre-loaded.
