Safaricom has a revised its PostPay plans to make the product more appealing to more user now. We have already told you almost everything you need to know about the plan which you can read about it here.

The new PostPay plans will be available on a 30-day basis with any unused resources rolling over to the next month.

At the launch of this product, Safaricom Chief Customer Officer Sylvia Mulinge said they are now making it simple for Safaricom customers to join the new PostPay and introducing a transparent way for them to view their usage. 

Should we be excited about this product? 

Yes, you should because Safaricom has now made it easy for everyone to join and also introduced plans that should cater for almost everyone. For some of us who are always on long phone calls pitching stories or talking to our loved ones, these packages are pretty exciting. No one wants their call to drop while you’re in the middle of a pitch because they have run out of airtime. 

If you have used PostPay before you also know how a tiresome it was having to physically visit a Safaricom shop with that Ksh.1,000 just to get enrolled. Now you can do all that straight from your phone from anywhere.  You can do this through Safaricom App, Webpage (Safaricom.com) and via *544#. You will also not be required to pay any deposit.

Moreover, the new plan now offers more data and minutes. Previously, for Ksh.1,000 you would get 100 SMS and 1000 mbs of data which of course were not really enough. For that same Ksh.1,000 under the new PostPay plans, you will be getting  5GB, 400 Minutes of talk time and unlimited SMSs.

Customers joining the revamped plans will actually be offered at five price points ranging from a Ksh 1,000 plan with 5GB data, 400 minutes and unlimited SMS, to a Ksh 10,000 plan that offers unlimited data, voice and SMS. 

With the new PostPay, you can also use your minutes to make international calls to China, India, Canada and the USA. In the near future, Safaricom plans to offer additional destinations for international calling and also unveil a device financing model where customers can get a device as part of their PostPay plan. 

The introduction of the new PostPay plans is part of Safaricom’s “For You” customer commitment unveiled by the company back in October 2019.
