Samsung recalls 2.8M Washing Machines due to impact injuries

Samsung might just be having one of its worst years ever, after the massive problems with the Galaxy Note 7, the company has yet another fire to put out. It is recalling 2.8 Top-Load washing machines following reports if ‘’ “impact injuries” .

Samsung says it has received 733 reports of washing machines experiencing excessive vibration or the top detaching from the washing machine chassis.  It adds that there are nine related reports of injuries, including a broken jaw, injured shoulder, and other impact or fall-related injuries.

The recall announcement was issued by The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued  warning owners that using the washing machine could pose an “a risk of injury.”

‘’This recall involves 34 models of Samsung top-load washing machines. The washing machines have mid-controls or rear controls. Model numbers and serial information can be found on two labels affixed to the back of the machine… Consumers should check with Samsung to see if their washer is recalled.’’

These come even as Samsung is still trying to grapple with the Galaxy Note 7 recall. Samsung was forced to recall the flagship device after several reports that they were catching fire. The company then launched an exchange program in some countries, but the new models continued to experience further issues. This forced Samsung to tell Note 7 owners to stop using the phones and return them, before permanently discontinuing the Note 7.
