Safaricom Home Fibre Now Available at a 50% Discount for New Customers


Safaricom has unveiled plans to capture more Home fibre subscribers by offering a 50% discount for new customers. The offer runs starting this month till September. To get the offer, ensure you are in the covered areas. You can check that by dialling *400# and choose option 1 “Get Safaricom Fibre” then follow the prompts.

Safaricom Home Fibre was launched two years ago in what they say as a proposition. Since then the service has spread its reach now covering 300,000 homes with over 107,000 subscribers across Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret, Kisumu, Nakuru, Nyeri, and Thika.

The new discounts are aimed to grow their subscriber base and it is also a chance for new subscribers to experiment if Safaricom’s Home Fibre is a great alternative for their needs.

The service is now seeking expansion through September to cover additional 15,000 homes. Part of the areas to be covered in the new expansion plans include parts of Kisumu and Thika, Kizingo in Mombasa, and Kinoo, Komarock and Ruaka in Nairobi.

“…we have designed the 50 percent discount to appeal to those who would like to experiment and try out the service. We continue to record remarkable growth driven by demand for unlimited entertainment, working at home, home CCTV among other emerging customer needs,” said Michael Joseph, CEO, Safaricom.

With the 50% discount, new subscribers of the minimal 5Mbps package (Bronze) will be pay KES. 1,450 instead of the regular KES. 2900. On the other hand, the Silver, Gold, and Diamond subscribers will enjoy up to 2 months of the 50% discount on the monthly subscription fees.
