Uzapoint and Pezesha partner to provide embedded working capital to merchants in Africa

Uzapoint Technologies has partnered with SME financing platform Pezesha to provide access to finance for micro and small businesses across Africa.

Through this partnership, Uzapoint merchants can easily access affordable working capital in an embedded approach by integrating Pezesha APIs into the Uzapoint POS platform.

According to a statement from the two companies, the partnership aims to address the challenges posed by high inflation and the growing low-income segment in the Kenyan retail sector. It endeavors to offer financial solutions and support to retailers, enabling them to provide affordable and quality products.

Uzapoint’s Managing Director, Ivy Kariuki said “In joining forces with Pezesha, we are glad that our merchants now have seamless access to affordable working capital. This strategic move aligns with our commitment to fostering economic development and entrepreneurship in Kenya whilst reflecting our dedication to providing enhanced services and innovative solutions.’’

‘’As we embark on this transformative journey, we remain steadfast in our goal of not only meeting but exceeding our merchants’ expectations, addressing evolving needs, and championing the success of small businesses,’’ she added.

“For businesses that make less than Ksh 5,000 per day, stockouts are a compulsory problem to solve. This partnership revolutionises access to working capital to solve this nagging problem. Uzapoint merchants gain instant access to affordable working capital, thanks to our Working capital solution innovation. This digital tool becomes their ally, helping the MSMEs streamline their supply chain and foster sustained growth” said Daniel, Pezesha COO.

Pezesha, through financial inclusion, can assist retailers in accessing affordable working capital and managing financial challenges amid inflation.

‘’Together, this win-win partnership seeks to empower retailers to navigate the evolving economic landscape, fostering a sustainable and customer-friendly retail environment.’’ a statement from the two companies reads.
