Huawei Releases The P30 Pro New Edition With Essential Google Apps and New Color Variant

Huawei P30 Pro was one of the most powerful smartphones released last year from Huawei. The phone won EISA’s Best Smartphone of The Year Award in 2019.

It was praised for its good camera features. It was also Huawei’s last flagship device to come preinstalled with Google apps before the US Ban kicked in later in May.

To circumvent the ban, Huawei has re-released this device, throwing in an additional “New Edition” tag. Apart from the new additional moniker that can be seen from the name, there’s no solid difference between this device and the original P30 Pro.

Huawei P30 Pro New Edition has only one memory variant though; 8GB RAM + 256 GB of storage. Compared to last year’s original P30 Pro, there were several memory models but the 8GB/256GB configuration was also part of the mix.

There’s also nothing to talk about the externals and internals because you get the same design, same chipset, and identical camera setup to the original Huawei P30 Pro. A new thing worth mentioning is the new Silver Frost color(shown in hero image) which was also seen in the recently announced GMS-less Huawei P40 Pro.

Huawei has recently announced the P30 Pro New Edition in the German market slapped with a €749 price tag, which is equivalent to about Ksh 87,000 based on the current FX rates.

Last year, the company released two new color variants of the P30 Pro in September several months after the ban kicked in. This ensured that Huawei still continued to ship devices with Google apps like Gmail, Playstore, and more, as the company continued to get App Gallery together.
