We have previously told you about vivo’s plans to bring the vivo Y19 smartphone in the Kenyan market. Vivo started teasing the device towards the start of this month, and it looks like it’s finally here.
The vivo Y19 has today been officially launched in the market and will be available for Ksh. 26,999.
With the Y19, vivo has expanded its Y-series in the market. Remember the vivo Y12, Y15, Y90 and Y17 were launched in 2019 and are currently retailing in stores countrywide.

The launch of the new device according to vivo is also set to increase quality smartphone penetration, fast-tracking vivo’s vision to drive affordability inclusion in the country.
Vivo has always made it clear that it is targeting young people with the Y series devices. ‘’‘The Y Series is made for the youth. We are bringing our latest innovations to many younger consumers through our fashionable Y Series smartphones,’ Arthur adds.
Vivo Y19 Specs
As we mentioned in the first article we did about this device, it comes with a 6.53-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels at a pixel density of 394 pixels per inch (ppi) and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P65 processor and comes with 4GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
The vivo Y19 runs Funtouch OS 9.2 based on Android 9 Pie and is powered by a huge 5000mAh non-removable battery with support for 18W dual-engine fast charging.
For the cameras, the vivo Y19 packs a Triple Rear Camera setup which includes a 16-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.78 aperture; a second 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a third 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The selfie camera is 16-megapixel with an f/2.0 aperture.
