Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, Nokia 3310 launched in Kenya; Here are the prices and specs


HMD Global yesterday unveiled its flagship Nokia-branded Android phones in Kenya. The phones comprise of the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 ,and the Nokia 6. The company also unveiled and the much talked about Nokia 3310.

The four devices were first unveiled to the world at the MWC 2017 in February this year. HMD has been releasing the handsets in global markets steadily and now it has made these smartphones available in Kenya as well.

The smartphones are available in all Safaricom shops and other selected retailers across the country with the Nokia 6 KES 24,999 the Nokia 5 at KES 19,999 and the Nokia 3 at KES 14,999 while the Nokia 3310 will retail at KES 5,299.

The devices combine superior craftsmanship, distinctive design and powerful entertainment features with a pure Android experience.

Nokia 3 sports a 5-inch HD 720p screen protected with Gorilla Glass. It is powered by MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor that features Mali-T720MP2 graphic processor. The device features 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 128 GB using microSD card, and comes with  2GB of RAM.

Nokia 3 sports an 8MP snapper both at front and at rear. The smartphone is powered by a 2,650 mAh battery.

Nokia 5 sports a 5.2-inch HD 720p IPS LCD display. It  is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled. The device features 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 128 GB using microSD card, and 2 GB of RAM. For the camera, the Nokia 5 sports a 13MP rear camera and an 8 MP front facing selfie camera. The smartphone is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery.

The Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch full-HD screen and comes in four colors, matte, black, silver, tempered blue and copper. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor that features Adreno 505 graphics processor. It comes with a 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded 128 GB using microSD card and 3GB of RAM.

In terms of camera, the Nokia 6 sports a 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and flash while the selfie camera is 8MP. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE capabilities, and a 3,000mAh battery.

Nokia 3310

Nokia described it as the mother of all phones . After the launch, the phone saw huge interest from Nokia fans who were desperately waiting to get their hands on this refreshed version of the Nokia 3310.

The phone measures 115.60 x 51.00 x 12.80 (height x width x thickness) and comes with a 2.40-inch display with a resolution of 240 pixels by 320 pixels.It packs 16MB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nokia 3310 (2017) packs a 2-megapixel primary camera.

The Nokia 3310 (2017) is also dual SIM (GSM and GSM) mobile that accepts Micro-SIM and Micro-SIM. Connectivity options include Bluetooth and FM.
