Vivo Ups V40 Series Photography Game With Zeiss Partnership

Vivo is set to bring its latest midrange in the country – the V40 series later this month.

Vivo V40 series is the company’s camera-centric lineup and they’ve partnered up with Zeiss for its portrait smartphone photography. Zeiss is bringing its optical and imaging expertise to the V40.

Vivo V40 has a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide. It also has a 50MP selfie camera. All three cameras shoot 4K 30fps video. It also has an Aura Light feature that brightens faces during lowlight portrait shots.

The new vivo V40, created in partnership with ZEISS, demonstrates vivo’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality portrait photography on smartphones. It aims to offer users cinematic quality for personal expression in the mobile imaging era and will feature ZEISS Cinematic Portrait Video for an enhanced videography experience. With ZEISS Focus Transition, ZEISS Cinematic Video Bokeh, and ZEISS Style Bokeh, users can expect professional-grade videos with stunning effects and creative possibilities.

Vivo V40 maintains the slim design of the Vivo V30, with glass on both the front and back, and now boasts improved water and dust resistance, upgraded from IP54 to IP68.

Vivo V40 features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1260 by 2800 pixels, HDR10+, 120Hz refresh rate, and 4500 nits brightness, an improvement from the V30’s 2800 nits peak brightness, and includes stereo speakers and an under-display optical fingerprint reader.

Vivo V40 comes powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and up to 8GB virtual RAM. It runs on Android 14 and Funtouch OS  and Vivo says it will get up to 2 major Android OS upgrades and 3 years of security updates.

Vivo V40 has a bigger 5500mAh battery and 80W Type-C charging.

Color options include Ganges Blue, Sunglow Peach, Stellar Silver, Moonlight White, and Nebula Purple.

Now, V series users can also enjoy the thrill of professional portrait creation as the collaboration between vivo and ZEISS extends to V40, bringing top-tier mobile photography capabilities to a wider audience than ever before,” said Mr. James Irungu, vivo Kenya Brand and communications.
