MWC 2023: realme GT3 with 240W charging power officially launched


Realme has expanded its flagship offering with the launch of the realme GT3 smartphone. Unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2023, the phone comes with a number of interesting flagship features including the world’s first  240W fast charging technology.

Realme claims that it will be the first brand in the industry to mass produce the 240W fast charging technology.

Using 240W charging power,  realme also claims that it only takes 80 seconds to charge the realme GT3 to 20% capacity. It also notes that fully charging the phone’s 4600mAh battery only takes 9 minutes and 30 seconds.

“realme was founded with the Dare to Leap spirit and the mission of empowering the young generation with leap-forward technology and design.” Chase Xu, Vice President of realme and President of realme Global Marketing, said  “Entering its 5th year, realme is taking an even bigger leap forward by becoming the first brand to break through the industry’s glass ceiling. It demonstrates realme’s commitment to improving our market presence through innovative technologies and better connecting with our young audiences.”

The realme GT3 will be available in select markets starting at $649 for a version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Not sure if the company plans to also make it available locally.

The phone comes with a 6.74-inch touchscreen display offering a resolution of 1240×2722 pixels and a 144 Hz refresh rate. Realme GT 3 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and comes  in a wide selection of storage variants to choose from, including 8+128GB, 12+256GB, 16+256GB, 16+512GB, and a special 16+1TB variant; 

The Realme GT 3 runs Android 13 and is powered by a 4600mAh battery that supports Super VOOC fast charging. 

For the cameras, the Realme GT 3 on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel primary camera; an 8-megapixel (ultra wide-angle) camera, and a 2-megapixel (macro) camera. There is a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.45 aperture.

The phone runs Realme UI 4.0 is based on Android 13 and will be available in Pulse White and Booster Black colour options. 

The global recommended retail price for realme GT3 will start from $649.
