Despite being the most popular sport in Kenya, football, their national team, has not had much success on the world stage. Other well-liked sports in Kenya include baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, rugby union, swimming, and volleyball.

Kenya is still a young country regarding traditional and online sports betting. On the other hand, the Kenya betting network has established itself rather extensively in a short time. Numerous foreign bookmakers coexist with local bookmakers. While online sports betting is booming in Kenya, there is still a long way to go before it becomes a significant gambling hub.

Eliud Kipchoge, one of the most famous Kenyan athletes, a marathon competitor who initially focused on the 5000-meter event, is a long-distance runner. He is considered one of the best marathon runners of all time and holds the world record with a time of 2:01:09 achieved at the 2022 Berlin Marathon. After the 1968 Olympics, Biwott never again captured an international title. He dominated the 800 m distance for a decade, going unbeaten for three years and setting eight of the top 17 times in history. He won gold medals at the IAAF World Championships in Athletics three times in a row. Despite being unable to participate in the 1996 Olympics when his career was at its height, he won silver in 2000 and bronze in 2004. The 800-meter world record held by Kipketer lasted for almost 13 years.
