Tecno Phantom X2 Series: Tecno will launch its next device in the Phantom series in Kenya this January. The flagship series comprises the Tecno Phantom X2 and Phantom X2 Pro and will be among the first devices to come with the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G SoC.
Tecno does not mention the exact date in January it plans to launch the device but rumour has it might be on the 18th.
The Tecno Phantom X (Review) successor is already available for pre-order in other markets like India.
When Tecno relaunched the Phantom series, in June 2021 with the Phantom X (Unboxing video), the company said this not only marked a jump forward of the brand to rival at the higher-end market section, but also a significant change to the competitive landscape in global emerging markets. The Phantom X was launched as Tecno’s flagship sub-brand, aiming to tackle the premium smartphone market amid an ambitious global expansion plan.
With an expensive Ksh.50k price tag Tecno did a good job with the phone – good build, design, an amazing display, great cameras. The curved display looked really good and it was interesting to see the direction Tecno was taking with this device, a direction we hope it keeps with the new Phantom Series.
Phantom X2 – What to expect.
The Phantom X2 features a 6.8-inch Full-HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz Touch Sampling rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
Under the hood, the Tecno Phantom X2 is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 5G SoC based on a 4nm process.
We are also getting a triple rear camera setup led by a 64-megapixel primary sensor. The phone is also powered by a 5,100mAh battery as well.
Tecno Phantom X2 is expected to launch alongside Tecno Phantom X2 Pro. We are not sure about the pricing yet.
