The convenience of getting health solutions from the comfort of your home is possibly one of the greatest achievements of modern technology.
Nigeria’s Healthtracka was founded in May 2021 to provide convenient at-home lab tests. Users book for tests on the company’s website and a have a lab technologist visit them to collect samples at their homes. Once the results are out, they are sent via email to the client.
The health tech startup has raised $1.5 million in pre-seed funding which was led by Ingressive Capital and Hustle Fund, with participation from angel investors: Alunmi Angels Alliance and Flying Doctors.
The company founded by Ifeoluwa Dare-Johnson and Victor Amusan in Lagos has so far partnered with three reputable labs, vCare Diagnostics, Lancet Laboratories, and Afriglobal Medicare.
Healthtracka co-founder Dare-Johnson said that one of the reasons why clients troop to their website is privacy. The company is so far able to facilitate 50 different medical tests. The platform has so far registered 7,000 tests requested by 5,000 users at home. It has a network of 700 phlebotomists, across 7 Nigerian cities—Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin, Kaduna, Ilorin, and Ibadan.
With this funding, the company aims at expanding its services to Kenya and Ghana in the coming months. Healthtracka also aims at building an API that integrates telemedicine services with conventional healthcare providers to offer at-home lab testing.
