Latest Huawei AppGallery Update Brings an Easier Search Experience

The latest version is part of its mission to provide an easier searching experience

Huawei has launched a new version of AppGallery – its application store – running on Huawei Mobile Service, a GMS alternative. The latest version of AppGallery is part of its mission to provide an easier searching experience to users.

There’s a slew of new features, including a slight UI tweak. Among the new features is a ‘Featured’ tab that houses manually hand-picked content by HUAWEI AppGallery’s editorial team, making it easier to find apps and games.

AppGallery is also getting different tabs for ‘Apps’ and ‘Games’ that’ll include various curated content, including articles, expert guides, and reviews. Users will also view trending applications and games every week via the new Apps and Games tab.

Other new tabs include a dedicated one for ‘Promotions’ and another for ‘Gifts’. These two are localized — in other words, based on a user’s location. They will showcase the latest promotions and gifts from the company and app developers, including lucky draws, cashback offers, exclusive promos, and challenges to win.

AppGallery has over 530 million monthly active users worldwide, according to the company.

Last week, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, said in-app distribution on AppGallery increased by a whopping 83 per cent in 2020. The total application installs from AppGallery stood at 384 billion last year.

Adam Xiao, managing director of Huawei Mobile Services in the Middle East and Africa, Huawei Consumer Business Group, says the new HUAWEI AppGallery version brings “an exceptional and redefined experience to our users, which makes discovering new content more exciting than before.”

The new update is available for AppGallery users in Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana.

Huawei plans to continue refining AppGallery to offer a wide range of apps and services to meet user needs.

Recently, Huawei also launched a big revamp to Petal Search, its in-house search engine.
