Oppo Bringing its Proprietary Flash Charging Technology to More Devices, including Cars

VOOC to more devices, in different places

Oppo has announced that its proprietary VOOC flash charging technology, launched in 2014, is making its way to more devices and in more locations.

The company has announced a partnership with Anker, one of the world’s leading consumer electronic brands, FAW-Volkswagen (the joint venture between FAW Group and Volkswagen Group), and Chip manufacturer NXP Semiconductors.

The three will work with Oppo’s VOOC flash charging technology to add it to their various devices for easier, convenient, fast charging. The partnership has been forged under the company’s new “Flash Initiative” flash charging project.

Oppo’s Flash Initiative aims to bring faster charging to more consumers worldwide in different areas beyond charging smartphones at home. The company announced the new partnerships and debut of its initiative at the ongoing Mobile World Congress, Shanghai (MWCS).

“Thanks to our new partners, our proprietary technologies can reach more people than ever before,” Adler Feng, Oppo’s Senior Director of Intellectual Property, said.

“This is a vital step in freeing consumers to use their devices however they want, no matter what they need to do or where in the world they are.”

Specifically for Anker, which makes lots of different consumer devices and accessories, from USB hubs and docks to power banks, speakers and headphones, the partnership will prove beneficial.

Since its debut in 2014, Oppo’s VOOC flash charging technology has been integrated into over 30 of its smartphone models serving over 175 million people worldwide.

The company’s latest 125W charger can fill a standard 4000mAh battery from 0 to 100 in just 20 minutes, while its 65W AirVOOC wireless charger takes about 30 minutes.

The Chinese tech company announced the two in 2020 besides a tiny 50W Mini SuperVOOC charger that you can use for charging a smartphone, tablet, and even laptop.
