Applications for the Africa Blockchain Campus Hackathon 2021 opened

The Africa Blockchain Institute has opened applications for the Africa Blockchain Campus Hackathon 2021.

The aim of the Campus Blockchain Hackathon is to give students of higher institutions in Africa early exposure to the career and business opportunities being presented by Blockchain/DLT Digital Innovations.

The Hackathon creates a structured and sustainable community that nurtures and empowers developers by providing and democratising access to knowledge, capital and mentorship.

Students from higher learning academic institutions across Africa are required to build blockchain applications on Free TON that will add value both to the continent and to the Free TON network.

Free TON positions itself as a community of the Open Source (OS) project that was created by the developers of the Telegram Open Network (TON). TON OS is designed as a decentralized operating system to handle decentralized applications.

Additionally, the Hackathon is planned to engage academia on everything and anything that they need to know about blockchain technology.

The Hackathon will take place from February 1st, 2021 – April 8th, 2021, with the grand finale hosted at the African Leadership University, Kigali-Rwanda. Regional winners receive an all-expense-paid trip to Kigali in Rwanda for the finals. Winners will also get to go home with monetary prizes, plus other supports.

The deadline for application is January 22 and can be done here.
