TECNO is launching the DroiPad 8II tablet in Kenya, Here’s what to expect


About a week ago TECNO Mobile launched the TECNO Boom J8, its first 2016 smartphone. The launch which also happened to be TECNO’s brand day took place at Garden City Mall on Thika Road and the company took this chance to showcase the J8 and some of its previous and latest products.

One of this latest products was their new tablet, the TECNO DroiPad 8II which is expected to be launched possibly between 18th to 25th April, the company has not yet given an exact date for the launch.

One of the significant features you should however expect is that the DroiPad 8II will supports 4G/LTE connectivity with voice call, which enables users to enjoy mobile internet lifestyle as much as they desire. The DroiPad 8II also has an 8″ HD IPS screen (800*1280) and runs on the latest flavour of Android, the version 5.0 (Lollipop).

The prize will range between Kshs.17,000 and Kshs.18,ooo, probably the first affordable Android tablet running on 5.0 Lollipop.

Other features include 1GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage, a 5 megapixels camera with LED flash and autofocus and a 2 megapixels front facing camera for selfies and video calling. Tecno 8H is also powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor.

This will be the fourth  tablet TECNO Mobile will be launching in the Kenyan market in two years after successfully introducing  the DroiPad 7Cs, DroiPad 8H, WinPad10 in Y2015. Launching four tablet devices in Kenya in two consecutive years,according to the company is an indication that TECNO is paying great attention to Kenya Market, probably aiming at the top position of African tablet and mobile computing market segment.
