Snapchat has reportedly bought off Bistrips, the service behind those funny comic strips that people always share on social media.
Not so much has been said about this new purchase but according to a source who spoke to Fortune, the deal is valued “in the ballpark” of $100 million, via a mix of cash and stock.
Founded in 2007, helps users build personalized digital comics by letting them choose from personalization options like hair style and clothing, and choose facial features like shape and even hair options.
It is not yet clear what Snapchat plans to do with the company, although according to Fortune this could help better integrate the messaging service with smartphone keyboards.
