2017 Jumia Black Friday sale to run from November 13 to December 13

The 2017 edition of the Jumia Black Friday is here. Dubbed ‘31 Days of Deals’, the sale will begin on November 13 and run for a month to December 13 with shoppers being treated to sales and festivities with different deals being released every day.

Interesting that Jumia decided to extend the Jumia Black Friday period to a month. Well, according to them the decision to make this extension was reached following an online survey conducted by Jumia in early September which revealed that Kenyans are waiting for commercial sales events such as Black Friday with 54 percent of respondents stating that they prefer a month of sales.

Black Friday, the world’s biggest online shopping event, is set to excite shoppers as it unveils yet another milestone two years since its inception in Kenya by Jumia in 2015. This year’s Black Friday is projected to be four times bigger than the Jumia Anniversary sale held in June, which was twice as big as the previous year’s Black Friday.

Sam Chappatte, the Jumia Kenya Managing Director says. “Unlike the previous two years when the promo lasted a day or two, this year’s edition is expected to be more exciting with plans already underway to ensure Jumia customers get the best shopping deals and experience for four consecutive weeks,”

The Black Friday sale is expected to be an extension of a good run Jumia Kenya has had this year. In July, Jumia experienced its biggest month in terms of traffic as it was forced to shut down its website due to overwhelming demand. However, the firm expects to have three times much more demand on Black Friday than it had in July on its anniversary.

Remember the company also recently rebranded Jumia First to Jumia Express that will see customers enjoy faster delivery time after ordering something on Jumia.  Products on the site with a Jumia Express logo delivered the following for customers in Nairobi, and at least a day faster than normal for customers outside the capital.
